Glacier Melting is increasing due to the increase in greenhouse gases caused primarily by the release and burning of fossil fuel.
These fossil fuels increase the amount of carbon in the earths atmosphere trapping heat in our atmosphere. It has the same effect as on a hot day closing all the windows in your car as there is no way to release the hot air. Glaciers are impacted by this rise in temperature and that also reduces the impact they have on cooling and reflecting the suns heat as they begin to shrink as well. |
